Welcome to Godtalk. The idea for this type of site occured to me while I was working up north as a geologist, and spent a large amount of my free time trying to understand what it really means to follow Christ, based on the writings of men who were influenced by his teachings thousands of years ago. I am by no means an expert on the subject, and I found that it's easy to get discouraged when all you have is yourself, a couple rocks and trees, and a pad of paper on which to document your confusion. It is equally discouraging to compose a song, poem, or devotion and be unable to share it. The objective of this forum is not to get easy answers, but to present each question for further study and discussion. If it was easy to understand God, there would be no satisfaction in developing a relationship over time. The site is called Godtalk Uncensored because the purpose is not to sit in a safe Bible study in the church basement and talk about things on which we all agree; the purpose is to examine the world, be offended once in a while, be insulted at times, and still get up and share the gospel, our thoughts, and our stories.

I love your idea! I agree that we need to talk, bounce ideas off others, and occasionally create controversy to grow in our faith and learn more about ourselves. I hope this blog gets some good conversations going!

Howdy! This sounds like a good idea. Maybe I'll come up with some controversial discussion topic later on. So what does everyone think of dispensationalism? (Just kidding.)

I thought of a controversial discussion topic. First, read the main page at www.sexinchrist.com, and then answer this question: Is premarital heterosexual anal sex wrong?

If I get the chance, I'll give my opinion later, but I'll be in Quebec for all of July and travelling around places like Ontario in August, so if I don't do it soon, it might take a while.

Before I go to Quebec, I'll give my opinion on this issue. While I think the "sexinchrist" people are right in saying the Bible never condemns anal sex, I do think anal sex is still considered sex, and hence should be saved for marriage. Here's why:

In Leviticus 18:22 ("You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female..." in the NASB) it's clearly referring to anal sex as a form of sexual intercourse. And 1 Corinthians 6:9 says fornication (premarital or extramarital sex) is wrong.

Sex. Potentially an excellent topic of study. The way I see it, there are 2 kinds of Christians. There's the kind that won't hold hands before marriage let alone contemplate anal sex, and thats cool 'cause if I only had that kind of self control...
Then there is the popular belief that anything short of full-on sex is still biblically acceptable. My question on that one (because there are some valid reasons to do both), is "is it the act itself that matters the most, or simply the mindset of giving away what you view as yours and God's? Is it worse to undress someone and not go all the way if you don't intend on making a lasting connection or letting this person come between you and your faith? Or is it worse to give someone an 'innocent' kiss on the cheek but do it with a rebellious attitude?

Still thinking about it. Verses to come, verses welcome.
