2 approaches to tagging claim posts:

1) Contest to see which group or individual can walk the farthest in a given day, and get the most work done. Bragging rights and an improvement in fitness over the summer.

2) How much, in the space of a 10 hour day, can I observe in nature as I walk over this hillside with the excuse that at some point I might come across a claim post and nail something to it?

So what's the best way to spend the day? Get all the work done and birds, trees, and mountains be damned? Or stop and have a picnic 'cause really, once the work's done in the area you're not coming back for a couple months?

There has to be some deeper meaning to that, although I've seen people post something every time they change their socks so there possibly isn't...

My socks are blue. I choose the first option. But, upon considering the tempory nature of the job in the fist place, and the fact that at this point in the season I start to worry about whether to hunt for a job or collect EI, and then I think about how to finance my travel plans...

Check out Matthew 6:25-33 or, for a slightly different take, Luke 12:22-31. I'd type it out, but I'm kinda lazy after the long day of chip-sampling pissing contest. (The other guy didn't know it, but I was determined to get just slightly more done in a day)
Although, on my 5 minute lunch break, while I was thinking "shit, I haven't hit the 100m mark yet", I did stop to consider the ravens. They're kinda cool.
